The Teal Elephant Project is our community service project that provides a variety of services for under served women and children. (Equine Assisted healing, wellness programs, riding academy, homeschool co-op, parties & other farm events.)

The project’s name and mission were chosen as our way of honoring the late and great Dallas Richards,  her family, and those impacted by her vivacious spirit.

About Dallas

In November of 2019, Dallas was diagnosed with  small cell carcinoma of the ovary, hypercalcemic type (SCCOHT), a highly aggressive cancer that affects young women.

And in true Dallas form, she met that beast head on. She underwent several surgeries, chemo, radiation, and simply refused to all the disease to define her capabilities or steal her joy for life.

I was blessed to call Dallas my friend and soul sister for a little over 3 years.

Dallas was (and still is) an inspiration to me, along with countless others who were blessed enough to cross her path.

To know Dallas,  was to also know love, acceptance, empathy, strength and so much more. She loved to celebrate others, and she LOVED parties! She always felt that everyone deserved to be recognized and celebrated for who they are.

She also had a passion for working with children.

The Teal Elephant Project will provide all of our farm’s services at little or no cost for under served children and families in our community. By doing this, we will keep Dallas' love for life celebration, children and health and wellness alive.
